• In a business that is subject to industry regulations, ensuring compliance is an non-essential but necessary business process.
• As regulations are drafted in a neutral and generalized manner, it is not feasible to ensure 100 per cent compliance. Usually, even the drafter of the regulation would not be able to indicate what 100 per cent compliance consists of. For the same reasons, every available resource can in practice be devoted to ensuring compliance.
