2026-06-17 \ Parlament Europejski \ AI Act: EP approves simplification measures and “nudifier” app ban (przejdź do treści źródłowej)

The European Parliament has given its final approval to the amendment of certain rules within the EU’s as part of the digital omnibus package. Amended rules concern new deadlines for stand-alone high-risk AI systems and AI systems embedded as safety components and covered by EU sectoral legislation on safety and market surveillance, a ban on nudifier apps and reducing overlaps and centralising enforcement. Before the law can enter into force, it still needs to be adopted formally by the Council. Most of the provisions of the AI Act will start to apply on 2 August 2026.
