AMLA has finalised three sets of standards that will help financial intelligence move across the EU faster and more consistently. Two of the standards set a single format for reporting to the EPPO. The third standard gives FIUs a common set of templates for exchanging information with each other, covering every kind of exchange, whether sent spontaneously or on request, including feedback and cross-border reports. The standards are now submitted to the European Commission for adoption and publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. They take effect in phases: EPPO reporting rules apply from 10 July 2027, while some technical requirements, such as fully machine-readable reporting and full FIU.net integration, follow by 10 July 2028.
